Houston-based midstream operator Targa Resources Corp. is accelerating the construction of two Permian Basin natural gas processing plants in 2026 amid record inlet volumes in the play and bullish expectations for future associated gas supply.
Targa’s third quarter Permian gas inlet volumes averaged a record 6 Bcf/d, up 5% year/year from 5.1 Bcf/d.
“What we are seeing generally is more growth on the gas side,” said CEO Matt Meloy during the third quarter earnings call on Tuesday. “We haven’t necessarily seen more activity, but we have just seen the wells be more productive.”
